In a 2017 research, it was found out that 6 out of 10 maids are being abused or exploited by their employers. Maid abuse has been an issue in Singapore for quite sometime, as evident by the numerous reports of maid abuse over the years. Almost every month there was a report of employers abusing their maid in the newspaper over the past few years, and it will still continue appearing if we do not do anything about it. Even though there are laws created and introduced to stop maid abuse, people still do it despite the harsh punishment if they are caught.

Maid abuse is not a small matter and it should not be ignored if we ourselves witness it happen. It cause physical harm, and even worst, mental harm too. Shouldn't we try our best to help someone in need? Especially someone who is innocent and just doing their job to survive and feed their family.
